The game starts early in the morning (dark) and gradually lightens toward dawn and back to twilight hours. Four well-defendable starting areas with one entrance and enough pavement for adequate subterranean protection. Two vein holes are located in the center on mesas, one East and one West. Buildings emit light for better visibility until sunup, and units, infantry, and aircraft glow more brightly. Starting areas are enhanced with low-level blue lighting. Much time was spent on AI pathfinding for this complicated map.
